I love Paiste. I started with them 50 years ago, went through every other manufacturer over the years, but came back to them 15 or so years ago. They have a magic. Yes, they are crazy expensive, but I'm sure part of this is down to being made in Switzerland , an expensive country, but also one where artisans are paid what they deserve.

Aerodrums 2 is coming out very soon and it looks as though it's going to be a massive upgrade!

Nice chops! I own the standard HHX complex 15 Hats. While I’d love to hear these side by side this demonstrates the differences of what a large cup provides. I definitely prefer a 15 inch hat but they can definitely feel a bit sluggish in reaction time.

B20 is only aloy its not gold to worth more then B8. Trust me i live in town where is mining of copper. They sound hollow, how much effort you insert in cymbal thats how much sound better

I liked the hi hats and the rides . But the 22inch rides bell was really muted. Shame.

I noticed they have die cast hoops on the toms,not mentioned,b4 die cast were a standard feature with no up charge but now they are!! I was lucky to get my 2 kits with the die cast hoops which I love!

That`s why japanese brands had total percussion world wide market control, stunning, open, agressive attack, even with stock Remo/Pearl heads. You can play it in a big gig, openone o a big bar stage as well , and nobody would realise that the kit is an entry/level/student/semi pro player budget oriented, nobody ind the audience, that`s for sure. It matches and in some areas, surpasses my own upper level Premier Cabria 2001 rock sizes kit, made by asian mahogany as well. Amazing.

The Stratus Series design uses lower mass to save on materials and increased automated production techniques to save on manpower costs. These moves have allowed Sabian to offer a great sounding set of B20 cymbals at a reasonable price. The main draw back to this is that thinner cymbals can't produce as much volume and are likely to be struck harder in an effort to produce more volume. This will lead to an earlier product failure in loud musical environments (live heavy rock). However, these cymbals will be great for recording sessions and live gigs that don't require "max volume". The thinner build also produces a lower pitched / washy tone which is excellent for jazz & fusion styles. My only complaint is that the ride bell does not cut quite as much as I like.

They all sound like rubbish

The two rides are the best of the bunch for my ears, make great crash rides, love that explosion they produce.

They sound decent but I’d rather just find/use some used hhx cymbals for a similar price

The rides are a real weak point in this line IMO. Not enough stick definition and the bells are some of the weakest I've heard.

The Mimic Pro is a great tool but for the Love of God, loosen up my man, don't be afraid to show some personality. Like a dry Sahara breeze. OY

Great Review!! I have to agree, these are some of the best drums I have ever seen/heard. They're incredible and the finish is jaw dropping. Where can I try these out myself? I like my Pearl Decade kit

I f'n love the sound of this drumkit and especially this guy playing them. Wow, I want to get it but I have too many already. I think I need to sell some of them just so I have room for this.

I have a nice set of these with my kit, and I love them. The only thing I found is that the 22” crash-ride cymbal was a much better crash than a ride…..too much wash. So, I got the 22” ride only to finish things out. All is well.

This is a really good drum; I’ve owned one. The unsatisfactory sound in this video is the result of poor tuning IMO. It sounds to me like the bottom head is way too loose. This is not a good representation of this drum 👎

I actually don't think that sounds very good. It sounds cheap.

I do not understand reviews of signature instruments. The one that came out with it uses it as their signature sound. Sounds are all subjective. I mean that you may not like the sound or how it functions, but that only means it is not your taste, and to you, it may not be good. To the signature artist and those that try and play like him may think it is terrific. Sometimes it is not just the sound of the instrument but how it is played. For instance you may love the sound Gavin Harrison gets out of the snare but since you play differently you may not like the sound you are getting. On the flip side of the coin most who have signature instruments love them as they can sound close to their musicians heros. So if enough people review and like the signature instrument then it will sell well. If reviewers do not really like the instrument it may not sell that well. In either case it really is only a ploy for companies to make more money in giving you the allusion you can play the same instrument as your favorite musician and have their iconic sound. I would not buy a signature instrument just because a great musician plays it. I would only buy an instrument because i like how it sounfs and functions snd not because it is a signature instrument.

It's only fitting that Ludwig made this drum exclusive for the UK. After all, it really was Ringo that opened the way for Ludwig in a huge way 60 years ago. Nevertheless, as a yank in the states in New York, I wish I could get my hands on one. That striped look of the drum is killer. And the sound is pure Ludwig. Good review!

Is that ride arm adjustable if I wanted it lower or closer to the floor tom?
